Hi Glorpy, after reading your story, I immediately have a resonate with you and also the people in Kawakatawk. Immigration is one thing that Grizz, Ice and I have experienced when we are still babies. As animals, we don’t have a warm home or to be specific, a shelter as human beings. We needed to worry about if we can have food to eat in the next meal. We sometimes had no place to stay when it was raining or snowing. Therefore, when we were small, we three had the dream to go to Japan. In our eyes, that was a place where we can have a good life. However, it was too difficult for us to go there. Therefore, I can totally understand that why many people may become illegal immigrants. I believe that for most of them, they just want to have a stable and warm life and place. Also, I believe that no on is willing to go to another country that they are not familiar with. The most important reason is that they could not live a good life in their own country.

I am not finding an excuse for those illegal immigrants but telling what is my opinion and also my experience. In fact, we three brothers really experienced a harsh life when we tried to find a place to live. It is like that people move to another place and rent a house in local place. We are animals and we don’t be accepted by many people. We don’t have enough time to rent a big and comfortable house in the city or even in the rural area. We don’t be accepted by most companies since animals are not thought to work as human beings. I think for people in Kawakatawk or third-world country other illegal immigrants, they should face some similar problems as us. Life is so difficult for us and them to go on. However, I want to say that no matter what the life is like, everyone is trying their best to go on with it and even make it better. So do those illegal immigrants. The thing that they have done wrongly should be immigrate illegally. Yes. They don’t get the official permission from the country they are moving to. This is not a problem that there is one more immigrants in this nation but a problem that would be related to issues such as social stability, working opportunity, public space and welfares, management of the government and so on.

I am totally touched by your sentence that “although illegal immigration causes problems with jobs, there should be an easier and quicker way for those who want to come to the United States to get here legally, as long as their intentions are valid and clear”. It is the importance, the essence, the attitude, and also suggestion for the issue of illegal immigrants. I don’t think that when illegal immigrants become a social problem, the government should simply deal with in the most direct while cruel way. We are all living lives, we are sharing the wishes to have a warm home and house and do what we want to do to. Human beings and animals all have the rights to struggle for a better life. Also, they have the responsibility to maintain the stability of society and the life of others. I want to convey my attitude towards this issue that illegal immigrants should not be encouraged while at the same time, they should not be regarded as the “cancer” of the society. Instead, it should be regarded as the reminder that there is still a long way to go to protect all people and animals.

Hi everyone, long time no see and this is Panda’a diary again. This is a rather peaceful week and we three brothers have a very good vacation together. Grizz and Ice don’t need to work since they ask for a vacation for themselves. We just stay at home, watch football and basketball games together, have the party with Chloe, and go to the cinema watching some movies. One of the films that we watched is Parasite. This is really one wonderful movie and Ice and I watch for two times. We hear about the news from Chloe that this movie wins four awards at the Oscars 2020, which are four Academy Awards at tonight’s Oscars including Best Picture, Directing, International Feature Film and Writing (Original Screenplay). Though we bears seldom pay attention to those honors and awards in the world of human beings, we also think this film is very very wonderful since Chloe is so excited when she recommends this film for us.

After watching this film, Ice and I went back home by foot. Ice asked me if this film is wonderful. I said yes, but it is also very depressing. When the whole family is living in the basement, I am touched. Not because the terrible living environment or how they work hard to seek a better life but because I suddenly have a resonate with their experience.

When Grizz, Ice, and I were still very small, our lives were no better than living in the basement. When we decided to settle in this city, many problems were just coming to us one by one. We had little money to buy a house, no one was willing to hire us or raise us since we were animals, we sometimes were chased by some people who thought that we should be sent back to the zoo, we were teased by those children in the park and ……Anyway, because were were bears, it was extremely hard for us to live in the city and treated by others equally. Ice was so good at cooking and I can swear that he can be the best cooker in this city. However, when the manager saw his bear face, he would kick Ice out without giving him any chance to cook for him. I believe this is his pity and also his loss for the while life. No matter how we made the efforts to struggle for a work, we would be kicked out eventually by human beings.

One night, when we were so hungry and we wandered on the streets to find some food, we saw Chloe and her family members. They had just finished their dinner from the restaurant and prepared to go home. Since they ordered too many dishes and did not eat them up, the waiter was preparing to clean the table and throw the food away. We were so excited and wanted to eat the food. While the waiter did not permit and even asked the manager to kick us out. The manager was so rude that he even called us “beast”. We were so angry as he was insulting us and were going to fight with the manager. However, Chloe just heard the chaos and walked to us. Knowing the whole thing, Chloe just asked the waiter to package all remained food and give us. Also, she bought some other food for us since she worried that we would hungry on the next day. Due to this thing, we became good friends and Chloe. She suggested us to live in the forest and sometimes, she would recommend some work for us so we can making a living.

Thinking of those past things makes me feel that we are so lucky that we can meet Chloe several years ago. Without her help, we may continue to live a terrible and poor life without having a house to live. I say to Ice: “Do you think we are just like the family in this film?”

“Yes.”

“Why?”

“We both have big house.”

Ice should misunderstand me. “I mean the family living in the basement.”

I can see that this is not a happy travel for you and I am concerned how are you at this point. Maybe, you have been repaired well by using the plastic or maybe you are still waiting in the line. I am very curious about if plastic can be used to fix you and it can make you function as normally as human beings as before? Also, I want to tell you that plastic is not a good idea to be used to fix you though it can exist for many and many years. A time longer than our imagination. While plastic is unhealthy, I mean, it will do harm to the environment of our planet. This is true and I must tell your by my practical story.

Before, in our forest, there are many tourists and they will bring many food to eat. However, they don’t have the awareness to protect the environment and they left many plastic in our forest. On the grassland, on the tree, or in the river, everywhere we could find plastic. Some animals did not know it and even tried to eat it. However, soon, some fished were found dead in the river and in their stomach, there was much plastic. We began to know that the fishes were dying from the plastic. Also, we found that the plastic was unable to degrade automatically. This meant the plastic left by those tourists would exist as long as possible. Even when we die, they will also “live” in our forest, our river, our trees…This was too horrible and all animals in our forest began to take action to clean up the plastic. We spent a whole week to find all plastic and threw them to a factory that can process plastic and other wastes.

After experiencing that thing, our forest forbids any tourist throwing the rubbish in it, especially different kinds of plastic. It took about half a year for our forest to recover the original condition. So, I want to tell that plastic is not a thing good for health or the environment. I know for you, the most urgent and important thing is to regain your “life” by being repaired again. However, I believe that plastic is not a good solution and choice. You, and also we, should not use plastic just for its benefit or advantage of it such as its convenience or its low price. If we are anxious to get things on the cheap, we will lose much more in the future. And in the future, what we have to lose may not only be money but also be lives and the global environment. Also, I want you to tell other people like you who may choose plastic to repair themselves, maybe it is time to change another way to save themselves. Not using plastic can not only save you at present but also save you in the future.

As a panda, I know that human beings are so smart and you create many advanced technologies, which can provide much convenience and make the world a different place. While as a panda, I don’t think you should damage the planet for the so-called convenience. My brother Ice is also good at creating different inventions (it is a secret…), but I know that he never invents things that will harm the world.

Hi everyone, Panda comes back again. This is my third story posted in the blog and today I want to write something about vegetarian. This idea comes from my own experience and also the news that I read from the newspaper several days ago. The news article says that currently, more and more Americans choose to eat at full-service restaurants or fast-food restaurants, which leads to the poor nutritional quality they take in every day. Also, when one goes out to the restaurant, the meals they take usually account for about 21% of their total calorie intake. It is suggested by the experts that to enhance the nutritional quality of people’s meals, they should choose to add more whole grains, nuts, legumes, fish, fruits, and vegetables into their meals to have a balance of all kinds of nutrition. When reading this article, I put down the snacks in my hands and have a deep thought of our recent life. Since Ice earned much money some days ago, we have abandoned our healthy life and ate many snacks, milk tea, cakes, chips, hamburgers, cheeses, bread, candies, and so many so many unhealthy foods. Till now, in the fridge, there are many ice cream and we may need to spend another week to eat them all. I suddenly felt guilty for our insane action, for our irresponsibility to our health and body.

I believe that many people know that I am a vegetarian. This is not strange because I am an animal and a panda. Therefore, some days ago, after reading the news article, I came up with the idea to promote vegetarianism to more animals in our forest and I know human beings like eat meat very much, so I just want to try first in the forest and Grizz and Ice will be the first.

Grizz and Ice rejects me strongly and they all think that they cannot live without meat and those things stored in the fridge. Ice can eat many cheeses and fishes every day and for Grizz, he never rejects any kind of meat. The plan seems impossible just according to the current condition, but I want to start it anyway.

I began to search online to find the benefits of eating vegetables. It tells me that if the diet is rich in vegetables and fruits, we will have fewer chances to have blood pressure and the risk of disease, stroke, eye, some kinds of cancer, and digestive problems can also be reduced. It sounds very tempting and copy those words and the article links and send them to Grizz and Ice. Their response is very cold, saying they know it already, and they tell me that eating meat can keep them energetic and strong. I admit it seems the truth when I look at Grizz and Ice…

I did not want to give up due to their indifferences and I printed many booklets and posters. Next morning, I went to the forest and delivered those to all animals I met in the forest. Most of them were shocked and rejected me at once and said that eating meat is a proper thing, animals cannot live without meat. I was very disappointed and angry. However, I still had supporters who were the rabbits living in the holes near the river. They even gave me some carrots and asked me to eat more carrots to become as white as them…

The promotion of vegetarianism went on for several days. Chloe heard about this thing and went to our house. She told me that eating vegetables and fruits is really good for our health while it does not mean we should only eat them. “For any food, we should eat them in a suitable way.” Chloe let me read her college textbook and tells me about this thing. “Any kind of food has its nutrition and we should not only eat meat or vegetables. Panda, we should keep a balance between them.”

“It is true Chloe?” I still didn’t want to give up.

“Yes, Panda”, Chole said firmly, “And you should remember that especially for animals, everyone has its own appetite. Wolf must eat meat while rabbit can eat grass and carrots for the whole life. This is the so-called the law of nature.”

“So, panda likes eats green vegetables, it is also the law of the nature?”

“That’s right.”

That night, Chloe had the supper with us. Ice prepared many meals for us and he also cooked several delicious dishes of vegetables for us. On the table, Ice said to me that “Ice will not eat snacks in a month.” Obviously, he was trying to encourage me. “Grizz too!”.

This is a very small thing in our life and now, we still go on with the life in our separate way. However, after that thing, I begin to know how to consider the feelings and conditions of others and respect them and their lifestyle. As a panda, it is really difficult for us to understand what is religion and what is belief. Though we have lived with human beings for many years and made some human friends, as an animal, we don’t have the sense of religion. Therefore, when you introduce what is Sikhism and what is their belief, I find that I completely agree with one thing you said that misdirected racism makes Sikhs identify themselves in public in a new way, or to be honest, it is a sorrowful and wrong way. I agree with it because sometimes, I also feel that I have to identify myself according to how others judge and view me.

When I was still a little panda, I was kept by an institution and forced to live in a garden alone just because I was a panda. Panda is a kind of valuable animal. They need to help with their research. At that time, I felt that I was just an item, an experiment object. Later, I ran away from the garden and found Grizz and Ice. We three bears began to live together like other common humans.

However, though we can speak with them, eat like them, shop like them, play basketball like them, we are also regarded as frightening living things for them. They would wonder why we don’t wear clothes as them, why I only eat vegetables, wonder why Ice needs to sleep in the refrigerator, and there are so many “why”s…Also, they don’t believe that bears can still sing, read, speak, cook, clean the house, watch the TV, write articles, work…Just like human beings. We are not smart, while we are still living on this planet and for us, bears and human beings share the same world.

Once a time, I went out to a company and wanted to have a job. During that period, we did not have enough money for our life, so we decided to work. When I entered the door of the company, the guardian just shouted to me that no animals should enter the building. I was very sad and explained to him that I was going to attend a job interview. Eventually, the manager went out and let me enter the office. While the result of the interview was bad because the manage though I was a panda and I would make their office become a zoo. It was so absurd but I knew clearly that human beings looked down upon us and thought that bears cannot work as human beings. I tried to show my ability but still was rejected. Later, I got a job as a tourist guide in a zoo. I earned much because all people liked me and they thought I did a good job.

Though I cannot understand religious belief, I can understand that every human beings, oh, and animals, should be treated equally and respectably. This is also a peaceful winter morning. Grizz, Ice, and I are going to go to the supermarket and prepare the food for the next week. This is the happiest time for Grizz and me while the most tiring time for Ice—he has to buy all food for us while Grizz and I are only responsible for our snacks. As we pass by the milk tea shop, we decide to have a rest and drink some milk tea. When it is ready, we are just sitting and watching the TV. We three brothers all like Kobe very much because we love basketball very much. I mean, many and many people like basketball and also like Kobe. And many people like basketball because of Kobe…The news is too cruel and also too abrupt…

At this time, the door of the shop is opened and a girl walks in. She suddenly turns to us and shouts with excitement “Oh!!! Baby bears! We see each other again!” This is the girl we met several years. At that time, we were still little bears and we competed for the pizza by playing the basketball. Though we won the game, we still shared with pizza with her and became good friends.

She is very happy to see us so she invites us to have the pizza. We all reject as we are too sorrowful to enjoy a pizza. She says to us that these years, she still insists on playing the basketball and her ability must have been superior to us. “Maybe we can have a match today?” She wants to play with us after being rejected by us.

“Ice don’t want to go. Ice need to go home and cry.” Grizz and me just tell the message to her and she shows very shocked. Obviously, she has just heard the news from us.

She looks very upset, disappointed, or to be honest, a little desperate… “My father says that if I can play the basketball well, he will bring me to watch the NBA and Kobe…”

UglyMuseum’s story posted in this week tells the same thing as mine, while we focus on different aspect. As a Panda, when I hear this news and read the reports, what comes to my mind first is that the coronavirus is mainly caused by human’s killing and eating of wild animals. I can clearly feel that how some human beings are destroying the balance in this planet by killing animals and damage natural environments. Obviously, UglyMuseum sees this disease from another aspect. How people are behaving when facing the terrible and threatening coronavirus?

When I read the news with my bear brothers and Chloe, we find that though the coronavirus is spreading quickly in China, especially Wuhan, Chinese people are uniting with each other and trying their best efforts to help others overcome this disease. Common people would donate money to Wuhan and tell surrounding people about the severity of this event. The government is using the quickest fast to implement policies according to the newest condition. Some company also ask their employees to send those necessary materials such as N95 masks, protective suits to Wuhan. Some hotel owners would volunteer to provide doctors and nurses with rooms so they can have a rest after the work…. However, at the same time, as told by Ugly Museum, some people are thinking to gain profits from this “disaster”.

Some people have good virtues while some people have ugly appearances and dirty thoughts.

When reading UglyMuseum’s story, I really feel shocked to know that as Chinese citizens, some human beings still consider their own profits and even take the disease as the chance to make money for themselves. For common people, especially those who have to work in the hospital, mask can guarantee their safety and save their lives. This is not the conflict between one person with another person, but the conflict between money and lives. After contacting with Chloe’s parents, we know that in Wuhan, the condition may be more severe than imagined. When you go to the hospital, you can see how people are suffering from the coronavirus, feel their fear of the coronavirus. Wuhan people are trapped in the city, other people should not do those evil things to make the condition worse.

UglyMuseum’s article is organized by the increasing price of mask and in the end, he ends the story with the man’s losing of all masks. I like this ending. At first, I think it just means that the man’s masks were picked up those people. While in my opinion, it also alarms people that if you are still so selfish, greedy, and try to make profits from others’ life safety, it just equals to doing the crime indirectly. They are killing other people. I really wish that Chloe’s parents can stay safe in Wuhan and the coronavirus can be defeated by human beings soon.

Finally, as an animal, I want to say that if human beings continue to kill and eat wide animals and don’t learn from the lesson of this event, they will also lose everything as the man selling masks. This Week, the story is a little shocking and sorrowful….

As the Chinese New Year is coming, Chloe and her parents want to go to China to visit their friends and also have a traveling. Chloe is very excited as this is her first time to travel to China. I have some Chinese friends on Facebook, so I know that is a very beautiful country and they have a unique culture different from ours. Before Chloe’s family is ready for the travelling, we three brothers just visit them and hope they can take some photos when they are in China.

However, everything seems not to go smooth…

Chloe is required to go back to the university because her professor is preparing a significant experiment and he hopes Chloe can be his assistant. Chloe has to give this chance to China. Then, Chloe’s parents go to China five days ago. While what is sent to us are not the photos or their appreciation of beautiful sites but a sad message that they are unable to go back in a short time because in China, there breaks a deadly coronavirus and many Chinese are infected. Also, some of them even have died of it….

Chloe’s parents have been to Wuhan, the origin city of the virus, thus, they are now trapped in Wuhan since it has been announced on Thursday morning that all flights and trains leaving the city are cancelled and in the city, all buses, subways and ferries are also suspended…The condition is more serious than imagined by all people. Because of this, Chloe’s parents have to stay in Wuhan with their friends.

Hearing this message, Chloe feels very worried and she rushes to our home to ask for ideas. Ice feels very panic. We make Chloe calm down and think that we should search on the Internet to find more news about it.

“I feel so sorry…” Chloe says after reading those news reports.

“Oh Chloe…We are sorry too…” Grizz tries to comfort Chloe but he finds language has lost its power…

“Chloe, your parents will be ok!!!” I say to Chloe and I think the virus will not hurt Chloe’s parents, “your parents are so nice and kind people.”

“Hey, Chloe, cheer up. Maybe you can go to Wuhan to be together with them!” Grizz comes up with an idea.

“Ice does not support it. That is dangerous.”

“Chloe, we should be trust Chinese people and soon, the virus will be defeated!!!”

“Hey baby bears, I am sorry because it is caused by human again,” Chloe raises her head and look at us, “humans kill wild animals and eat them. That’s why the virus will emerge…”

Just now, when we are reading the news reports, it is sure that we are sad and also…angry. Some people are too avaricious. They eat beef, pork, chicken, shrimp, and so on…Many animals become the food of them. However, they seem not to be satisfied with it. Now, they even kill wide animals such as bamboo rats, badgers, snakes, camels, cats, and so on…Many kinds of wide animals who should live happily like us in their places…However, they peaceful life is broken down when humans enter into it….What they lost is not only habitation or homeland but also their lives…

In the so-called “Seafood Markets”, there hidden many kinds of wide animals that are hunted illegally. They are put in the cages. The bodies of those dead animals are hung just in front of the shops so customers can see them. To raise them in the shop, some sellers even cut off their paws to avoid their escaping. Then, when someone is interested in them, they soon become the delicious dishes of him…

“Chloe…This is not your responsibility…”I don’t know say what but I think I have to say something.

Hi Ekko, I am Panda and I feel your journey to find back the memory is a very touching and warm one. As for your story, I have two points to say.
The first one is that it is a well-organized story, including the character, the plot, and also conversations. As a person who loses your memory, the first thing you want to do is to get back all memories. However, though God brings your memory away, you are also given an ability that can help you find it. This is one very important element consisting of your story and your character. Especially the sentences that describe how you relax yourself and try to find the pieces of broken memories from your brain, they conform to your character as a person losing his memory very well. For example, you write that “I know I’m still conscious and I know I’m awake but I just can’t fell any part of my body”, this seems to present the picture in front of me that you are trying to think of something but your consciousness is unable to do and your body is also out of control. In addition to those descriptions that make up your character, the plot is also very good. At the very beginning, you find that “you” are not in a good relationship with your parents, so “you” don’t want to go back home in the Spring Festival. However, when you are in the coffee bar and see the mittens, your lost memory is back and you decide to make “you” to call your parents, which is the turning point of your story. Overall, I think your story touches me much and the character you create conforms to your introduction well. One thing you can improve is that you can add more interesting or magical plots into your story since you are a time traveler!
